Randi is a New York State licensed optician with over 40 years’ of experience. She is also National Contact Lens Certified. Her professional affiliations include: Past Director of the New York State Society of Opticians; a Fellow of the National Contact Lens Examiners Society; and a member of the American Board of Opticians and the Guild of Prescription Opticians of America.
Randi has been with Moss Opticians since 1985 and has been its owner since 2001. During that time she developed the extensive children’s section, fitting those from three months to college age. Over the years she has extended her services to include local outreach to nursing home residents who are unable to visit the store and to the staff of the VA medical center in Northport.
Randi is very involved in the greater community from teaching nursery school children about eyes during National Eye Month to making and dispensing glasses for orphaned children from Russia, Ukraine, and Ethiopia. Active in the business community, Randi has served as Vice President of the Townwide Fund of Huntington and as a member of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce.
When not at work or a town meeting Randi can be found boating with her husband Jerome.
Natalie is a New York State licensed optician with over 25 years’ of experience. She is also a licensed Contact Lens Fitter. Her professional affiliations include serving as Board Member and past President of the Suffolk County Chapter of the New York State Society of Opticians.
Natalie has been with Moss Opticians since 1999 and now serves as its children’s specialist. She has a knack for making children comfortable about wearing glasses; it is not unusual to see her sitting on the floor while helping toddlers pick out their frames.
Huntington born and raised, Natalie admits to an eyeglass addiction. She says, “Some people love shoes and pocket books. I love glasses”.
In her off hours Natalie is an avid scuba diver and serves as a crew member for East Coast Recreational Diving.
Jackie Beswick is a New York State licensed optician with over 40 years’ experience and a member of the New York State Society of Opticians. Jackie is experienced in all aspects of the field from precise fitting of eyewear and Rx analysis to lens edging and repairs. She is a familiar face to the area as she has worked in Huntington Village for the past 25 years. It is a pleasure to welcome her to our team.
When not at Moss Opticians Jackie spends a lot of her time with her beautiful grandchildren.
Licensed Optician
Kate has worked at Moss Opticians since 2006 and continues to enhance our team with a good fashion eye, technical excellence, and marketing knowhow. Since completing her NYS Ophthalmic Dispensing boards in 2022, to become a licensed optician, she has excitedly begun her journey in pursuit of her National Contact Lens Examiners license. She is also our “resident Geek” who has been informing our customers with social media posts, and with our monthly newsletter. She keeps busy in her off-time hours as a licensed wildlife rehabber and takes care of many critters of her own!
After 20 years as a customer of Moss Opticians, Marie joined our team in 2010. “I’ve spent so much time at Moss with four children, my husband, and myself all in glasses and contacts, it seemed natural to work here.”
With a 25 year background in interior design, Marie has a keen eye for detail; from office procedures to helping choose eyewear for our customers. She was also very instrumental in the move and redesign of our store in 2012.
Marie loves tending to her beautiful gardens, knitting, and boating.
OPTOMETRIST (OD)
“Dr. Henry” has been with Moss Opticians since 2008. He is therapeutically certified and has over 35 years’ experience, with a specialty in contact lens fittings. His professional affiliates include Acuvue and Ciba Vision, for which he severed both as a consultant and clinical researcher. He is currently Treasurer for Suffolk County Optometric Association.
On his off-day Henry is an avid walker and hiker. He also enjoys spending time with a growing family of five grandchildren.
